Lowestoft Town U18's continued their run in the FA Youth Cup tonight off the back of a convincing win against Wroxham last time out. The group continued to work hard over the last two weeks reviewing the game and looking at areas where they can improve. Ipswich Wanderers U18's were the visitors who are known to be a strong side in the county with players featuring for their first team this season. The game kicked off under the lights at a fast pace with both teams working one another out. It took just five minutes this time for Sam Aldous to get himself on the score sheet and Lowestoft ahead. Luca Upton with an excellent cross from the right hand side which was met with a well placed header from Sam. Similar to the Wroxham game, the young Blues were on top and in control of large amounts of possession. Just after the half-hour mark, Lowestoft doubled their lead. Luca Upton once again finding space wide and delivering a cross which was met by Ben Atkinson who powered a header home. Half-Time came with Lowestoft two-nil to the good and looking assured however were aware that the next goal was important in the tie. The second half started and Ipswich Wanderers came out with an improved intensity which saw the game become even for large parts. Lowestoft were comfortable and were patient in breaking Wanderers down who never gave up. With fifteen minutes to go, Ashton Blogg found himself space outside the Wanderers area before unleashing a superb strike to win the tie for Lowestoft Town U18's. The young Blues had further chances to add to their tally but Ipswich stayed strong until the full-time whistle. Full Time 3-0. Lowestoft Town U18's secure place in the Second Qualifying Round of the FA Youth Cup with a convincing victory over Ipswich Wanderers. Man of the match awarded to Bailey Sutton who was a calming and assured presence along the back line all night and ensured the clean sheet was kept.
